ABOUT US
Pressed Paradise is a group of emotionally, socially charged artists who feel incredibly distressed by their current environment. A group who is employing their privilege to create art in non-traditional spaces, asking questions about where we are and what it means to be here. The collective is made up of independent artists Arash Khakpour, Kelly McInnes, Diego Romero & Heather Lamoureux. The group formed in late 2015 and has presented many outdoor guerrilla performances throughout Vancouver exploring themes such as immigration, colonialism, sexism, environmental pollution and consumerism. Pressed Paradise currently has a Special Projects Residency at The Dance Centre to activate spaces in the building that are not seen as performance space. They create and perform work, independently and as a group, that is often multi-disciplinary, installation-based, site specific, durational & guerrilla-style.
